The Ndebele are well known for their colourful art in the form of painting (houses) and beadwork (jewellery). This project is an extension of their ideas, values, traditions, and beliefs. All beading is undertaken at home and contributes valuable income to these under privileged households.Chulucanas PotteryThis pottery is handmade in the village community of Chulucanas, in a far Northern Provence of Peru. Approx. 20 families are involved in this Fair Trade project. The artisans mould the raw clay using their hands, feet, and special tools. This shapes the pieces, which then go through many different processes over a 3 week period, which involves smoking over mango leaves to create the "negative" black & white patterns, and finishing with the use of fine stones to polish the pottery giving it shine
