It All Starts Here at PCYC
Beenleigh PCYC now has another first class facility that will benefit the needs of the community. Indoor Rock Climbing is something that people of all ages and all walks of life can enjoy and will contribute to the health and lifestyle of residents, offering a facility for daily exercise and fun. Rock climbing is an activity that combines the use of physical strength and skills together with mental stamina, and requires some persistence. Also great for kids, they can climb with other kids as well as adults in a controlled environment. They learn safety, responsibility, respect and how to productively channel their youthful energy and to have fun.
The Wall was built under a Skilling Queenslanders for Work Project with the Queensland Government and took 15 weeks to complete. Beenleigh PCYC had to remove and relocate 8 meters of storage cabinets and demolish 12 meters of office space to build the rock wall. We would not have this facility without the most generous donations from, The Spot Community Centre at Parkinson, Rotary Club of Beenleigh, McDonalds and Hi Ten.
