The newspaper is plastic sleeved every week and delivery is completed by sundown Wednesday. The Star is a Brisbane owned and based independent newspaper which has no connection with any media group in Australia or overseas. It is currently one of the largest privately owned general newspapers in the Greater Brisbane area and one of only a handful of independents remaining in south-east Queensland.
