Is a non-profit, community based child care service operating from private homes of approved and licensed educators Has contracts with Commonwealth & State Governments - Australian Children’s Education & Care Quality Authority Operates within guidelines of National Quality Framework Often referred to as the SchemeStaff:The Scheme is organised and supported by a highly qualified and experienced co-ordination unit consisting of the Manager, Senior Co-ordinator, 6 Co-ordinators, a Playgroup & Toy Library Co-ordinator and 2 Administration Officers.There are over 110 Educators registered with the Scheme.Area Serviced:Currently approx 500 families & 600 children per week are provided with care.The Scheme services the suburbs of Augustine Heights, Bellbird Park, Brookwater, Camira, Collingwood Park, Forest Lake, Gailes, Goodna, Redbank, Redbank Plains, Riverview, Springfield, Springfield Lakes, Greenbank, Jimboomba and, surrounding areas as the need arises.History:The Scheme was founded in 1981 and had its beginnings around the Inala Gailes area. It has formerly been known as Gailes Family Day Care, then Goodna Family Day Care, and South East Ipswich & Springfield Communities Family Day Care, until recently when the name was changed to KITES Family Day Care. Governing bodies: Licensed by Australian Children’s Education & Care Quality Authority Education and Care Services National Law and Education and Care Services National Regulations Funded by the Australian Government DEEWR – Department of Education, Employment, Workplace Relations Sponsored by the Inala Community House Inc.(ICH), a non-profit community group that also sponsors a number of other programs.
