Our small family-owned dryland vineyard in Mudgee{s premium wine area produces small batches of handcrafted, high quality wines.Treading lightly encompasses Heslop Wines philosophy of conservation and moderation, from hand pruning and picking in the vineyard, building sustainably with straw bales, to minimal intervention in the winemaking process to produce the highest quality, handcrafted wines. Presently sales are managed online, by using our order form or directly by phone or email.Our wines are an expression of the terroir, grape varieties and winemaking philosophy that surround their creation. A combination of traditional and alternate varieties were planted by the family in the mid 1980{s in well-drained clay loam soils, derived from weathered shales, with quartz veins. Located about 5 kilometres north of Mudgee township, the vineyard experiences a continental climate, moderated by the 450m altitude.
