The story of Edwards and Davies Jewellers begins in 1944. Sixteen year old Gordon Edwards Sr. was walking down Danforth Ave. looking for a way to advertise his new radio repair service. He came to 2834 Danforth , where Llewellynn Davies was running a small watch repair shop. Gordon entered the store and asked Mr. Davies if he could hang a repair sign in the window and start his radio repairs. Being that times were tough, Mr. Davies agreed and soon the two of them were not only doing more business than they had expected, they were forging a friendship that would last for 60 years. The next step was to form a partnership. Being that Gordon was only 17 and too young to sign a contract, his father, Albert Edwards, signed on his behalf. That was on Sept 22 1945. The original contract and store front signage can still be found hanging on the walls of our store today.
