My career in photography started as a trainee, at the then tender age of 17, working in the heart of London. With this experience I moved to the midlands and began shooting mail order products for several years. This taught me how to use a 10x8 inch Sinar camera with speed .In those days we had to do our own processing of the slide films, 40 sheets in one go.I decided to became a freelance photographer and shared a studio in Birmingham with another photographer, undertaking commercial assignments for various agencies.Deciding to widen my horizons, I then left the UK and worked in the Middle East for the last 20 years, working for a large printing company. During this time I undertook everything from annual reports for banks, to food, factories, airlines, hotels, commercial products ,you name it I‘ve most likely shot it.I returned to being a freelance photographer after the invasion of Kuwait, sadly having to replace all my equipment, which had been taken as one of the spoils if the Gulf War.Ever since then I have been freelancing in general commercial photography but have now returned home to the UK to continue my work. . Below I to share some of my more... notable experiences in my photography career. My most challenging assignments undertaken:1. Able to withstand extreme conditions: Six days in the open desert in July photographing the British Challenger tank being put through its paces against the American Abrahams tank, for the government to decide which one to purchase. It was 55 degrees in the open with no shade at all, . By the fourth day I wasn’t convinced I would make it home.
