The story of Oro Fino Custom Jewelry has its roots in humble beginnings, and would not be much of a story if it were not for Peter Sendejo, master jeweler of Oro Fino. Originally from South Texas, Pete grew up farming, and attending school. Early on, Pete recognized an innate beauty in nature, both simplistic and complex, of which he would draw on for artistic inspiration. Pete would go on to work part time in jewelry stores in San Antonio, attending college, pursue other forms of work, and then in 1973, move to Arlington, Texas. In 1979 Pete started working full time in the jewelry trade. Pete apprenticed under a 3rd generation master jeweler, who crafted every component of jewelry by hand. Through this apprenticeship, Pete gained a more in-depth appreciation for the true artistry of jewelry making. He leared to forge metals, to impress fine details upon jewelry, and meld the artistry of jewelry with the alchemy and charm it is so characteristic. Through all of this, Pete was imparted with the secrets of a time since past, and an art since lost. Aided by the fine art of jewelry making, Pete was guided to go into business for himself in 1982, and shortly thereafter the original Oro Fino location on Abrams and Bowen was founded, and has stayed within a one mile radius of that original Arlington location for over 30 years.
