I’ve spent most of my life ‘in the saddle,’ having first sat on a horse at age five. Over thirty years later, I can look back now and say horses have played a huge role in shaping who I am today. They make me a better parent (patience is a must), a better friend (compassion brings you closer), and a better worker (dedication brings rewards). Any horse person reading this likely just nodded their head.I grew up in Virginia spending nearly every weekend at some sort of horse event. Thank you, Mom! Though I still have the competitive spirit in me, these days my life is about finding balance between parenting and working. My current horse, Quillane Galaxy, is a Section D Welsh Cob. Having raised him from a 4 month old, I enjoy the special bond we have. Plus he makes a great model for practice shoots as his personality of the day (yes, there are several) comes through in the photos.
