Peoples Church is a community church in the tri-city area and we’re excited that you came to visit us today. We’ve been in this area since 1951 when founding pastors Claude and Dorothy Harris moved to Kankakee with intentions of beginning a new church work. In the fall of 1952, they held their first church service in a small rented building on Cypress St. Seventeen people attended that first meeting.The church moved to Cottage Ave., then to Pierson Parkway in 1969 – a move that was accompanied by renewal and growth. In March of 2008, the church moved into its new facility on Career Center Road (6644 N. 1000 W. Road Bourbonnais IL, 60914). The building is adaptable, expandable and intended to be used to train leaders, equip families and to disciple both young and old.
