Buckeystown Veterinary Hospital first opened its doors on November 1, 1989. The hours were limited to evenings (Monday–Friday from 6:00–9:00 p.m.) and some Saturdays, since Dr. Miller and her husband, Terry Sewell, had to work first at their “regular jobs, down the road” each day. The only paid employees were two high school freshmen, who worked part-time (our current Office Manager, Lori Fields, was one of them!).By April 1, 1990, Dr. Miller left her former job to devote herself to full-time practice at Buckeystown Veterinary Hospital. Terry still worked full time for a steel company and helped out at the hospital in the evenings and on weekends. At that time, one registered veterinary technician was added to the payroll.
