Mikes Fancy Cakes was established in 1991. Michael Petrin is the owner and head baker. He is a graduate of the Culinary School at SMTC, South Portland, ME. Prior to beginning Mikes Fancy Cakes, Mike worked as the head baker and chef for Wellesley College, in Mass. And before that, as the head baker for some of Maine{s own summer camps.Mikes Fancy Cakes began in Mike{s own kitchen, and soon expanded into a full bakery location adjacent to his home.From here, Mike produces a wide variety of retail packaged baked goods for the variety store and super market trade. He also welcomes retail and special order business for cakes, cookies, pastries, and custom creations.While not currently a retail store location, Mike welcomes you to call ahead for a visit almost any time. There{s usually a pretty good selection of baked goods on hand.
