The North Carolina Botanical Garden{s lands comprise nearly 600 acres. The Garden{s main visitor site, open seven days a week, year-round (except winter holidays), is located just off the US 15-501 Bypass on Old Mason Farm Road. Here visitors can enjoy native plants arranged in Natural Habitat Gardens and an extensive Carnivorous Plant Collection; seasonal displays of aquatic plants; native perennial borders full of seasonal color and form; a Garden of Flowering Plant Families; the Mercer Reeves Hubbard Herb Garden; raised beds and pots demonstrating accessible gardening; a Daily Plant Sale (April-October); 2+ miles of trails through native piedmont forest; and bimonthly art exhibits. Admission is free. Classes for adults and summer activities for children are also offered.
