Rik and Melissa Obiso grew up in rural Sussex County, New Jersey and fell in love with Southwest Virginia when they attended Virginia Tech.Since opening to the public in the spring of 2011, Attimo has become a place to relax and enjoy our distinctive wines. Attimo Winery is dedicated to celebrating the everyday moments in life. "Attimo" means "In the Moment" in Italian and all of our wines are named after special moments or events in life or in history. We offer special seated tastings in a relaxed atmosphere.Since 2006, Attimo has grown from a small patch of "test vines" to a large vineyard and tasting room. Vines have been planted every year, beginning in 2007 through the present with many of our vines bearing fruit beginning in 2010. There are now over 11,000 vines on the property & many thousand raspberry and blackberry plants. Attimo winery also holds long term leases with vineyards in Charlottesville and Bedford, Virginia.
