Oliver Gospel Mission has been serving the Midlands community for 126 years, making it the oldest rescue mission in the Southeast and 6th oldest in the United States.The Mission assists those in need in our community by providing food, shelter, clothing, chapel services, and addiction recovery and employment programs.The mission of Oliver Gospel Mission is to see that the broken and homeless are sheltered, given the gospel of Jesus Christ, and equipped to live responsibly.The vision of Oliver Gospel Mission is to exalt Jesus Christ by facilitating life transformation among the broken and homeless that they might radically enhance the community.Oliver Gospel Mission strives to see that the broken and homeless are provided with a warm meal, are sheltered, given the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and equipped to live responsibly. Our philosophy is drawn from the adage “Give a man a fish and you have fed him for today. Teach a man to fish and you have fed him for a lifetime.” Our goal is that the men arriving at our door will receive the tools they need to live fulfilled, functioning and fruitful lives, ready to contribute to and enhance the community.
