Conway Cradle Care (CCC) was established in 1995 to assist teen parents who were forced to drop out of school due to lack of support for their situation and/or lack of money for childcare.CCC started as a mission of First Presbyterian Church of Conway. Over time, CCC has become an independent nonprofit organization and a United Way agency; CCC is supported by local businesses, community organizations, professionals, churches, and individuals. The support for the community continues to the present. The Board is a working board and is made up of volunteers representing diverse segments of the community. The Need for CCC Continues:Research indicates that, compared to those who delay childbearing, teen mothers are more likely to drop out of school, remain unmarried, and live in poverty. Their children are more likely to be born with low birth weight, grow up poor, live in single-parent households, and enter the child welfare system. Daughters of teen mothers are morel likely to become teen parents themselves, and sons of teen mothers are more likely to be incarcerated.
