My name is Michelle Mahoney. I am a wife and Mother of three , ages 13, 9 and the baby of our family who is 5. Our family relocated to Florida 7 years ago. My husband is a kitchen designer and currently runs his own business. After many years of working with children, I decided to transform my passion and experience into Nurturing Hands Childcare. I have a degree in nutrition and most recently worked in clinical nutrition, providing therapeutic diets for seniors in a nursing home setting.My love for children started as a little girl playing teacher. Over the years, I have worked with children in various settings: as a counselor in day camps, baby sitter, a stay at home mom, and a volunteer with the Headstart, church child care, and WIC (Women infant and Children) programs; not to mention the elementary schools my boys attended.As a mother, my philosophy has always been “a mother is a child’s first teacher”, so I understand the importance of finding good childcare providers. It’s my belief that a childcare provider’s role is to support parents by reinforcing positive values, building early literacy and extending the nurture provided at home. I’ve always advocated for children and will continue to do so. Selecting a provider that is the right fit for your child is a major decision; with that said, I welcome any questions regarding Nurturing Hands Childcare.
