In Albany, GA in 1912, our founder Joseph A. Strawder opened a small plumbing company. At the time, all water piping was galvanized, drain lines were cast iron, and wells were hand dug by a two man crew. A days work was strenuously labor intensive. Persevering through hard times, Mr. Strawder, my great grandfather continued to grow his business by offering fair prices and good work ethic to the public. He pioneered many new advances in plumbing in Albany at the time and grew to be the largest plumbing company in the southeast region, running a fleet of fourteen 1940{s model Chevy panel vans. Some years later his daughter, Ruby Strawder, married a plumber working for her father, Robert Frazier. He was fresh off the WWII aircraft carrier USS. Americana that was sank in battle in WWII in 1939. My grandfather was a quiet man, tattered with homemade navy tattoos, but inside his rugged exterior was a man with great heart and dignity. He was an amazing plumber and it wasn’t long before my dad, Robert L. Frazier was born. At a very early age my dad was involved with the family business helping out around the shop, and later on playing a very active role in the inner workings of the family business.
