For years I have loved using my camera as a translator for my world view, which seems to be a combination of optimism, drama and humor. As a portrait photographer, I collaborate with my clients to create a special moment that reflects the reality of who they are. Whether I am photographing a baby or child, a family, a business headshot or a headshot for a performer or author, my goal is to capture the inner life and spark that emanates from the people in front of my lens.I have always been drawn to people who live their lives with a profound appreciation for each moment. My special projects reflect this. In photographing people confronting cancer, my goal is to show how those affected by this devastating disease may actually see their lives emotionally enriched as they find new resources they never knew they had. My photographs of gay dads and their kids show the wonderful dynamic existing in alternative families.
