Dr. Nevin Berglund, founder of Berglund Animal Hospital, graduated from Ohio State Veterinary School in 1952. In 1954, Dr. Berglund stood across the street from the vacant lot on the corner of Old Orchard Road and Gross Point Road and envisioned a small animal hospital. This dream became a reality on January 31, 1954, when ground was broken and construction of the animal hospital began. Dr. Berglund actually helped with much of the construction of this hospital, including the installation of the animal cages and painting the interior of the building. Berglund Animal Hospital opened its doors on June 14, 1955. It was from that day forth that Berglund Animal Hospital would serve the community and provide animal{s a high level of medical care and attention. It was his insight and dedication to veterinary medicine that has brought Berglund Animal Hospital to where it is today - a three veterinarian, full-service facility offering the most progressive and up-to-date treatment for pets throughout Evanston and surrounding communities. In 1997, Dr Amy Perille purchased the practice. In 2001, Dr. Mark Howes joined the practice and bought the practice from Dr. Perille in 2005.
