Buford Street Drug has come a long way since opening its doors back in June of 1968. Dean E. Clary and Jimmy Moss started the business in front of the old Gaffney High School as a pharmacy and variety store. In 1981 the store moved to 314 E. Buford St and added True Value Hardware to the mix. In 1992 they opened the Post Office Contract Station when the main post office moved to Floyd Baker Blvd. They started the Home Medical Supply in late 1994. Mr. Clary retired in August of 1995 and decided to sell the store to his partner James" Mickey" Harmon, manager Charlie Patton and pharmacist Danner Abernathy and Marion Patten.
