Paula and Alex Rothacker began their dog training life together when the met at a training kennel where they were both working. They both originally studied K9 training under the famed Willie Necker,Having been training dogs since 1974, Paula and Alex opened TOPS Kennel in 1984, which was originally located in Northbrook, IL. To accommodate the need for a larger, more modern facility, TOPS was relocated to Grayslake, IL. In 1991.Both Paula & Alex have a very strong passion for dog training. They have extensive training, knowledge and experience in all facets of dog training and dog behavior.Their training philosophy is that they believe that a well trained dog will produce a dog that is well rounded and be a joy to have around the house.Paula and Alex are fortunate to be surrounded by a very talented, caring staff of employees which makes up the TOPS team. They firmly believe that without the help of their staff, TOPS would not be able to achieve the success it has with its’ training program.
