I come to the legal profession with a rich and varied professional career. I have worked in a large corporation, owned and run a small business and participated in managing an arts organization. I started my legal career in 2001 representing children in Family Court. Through this work, it became clear to me that there must be a better way to resolve these deeply personal family issues that bring people to the court house, which many times is ill-suited to provide adequate resolutions. In the past ten years, I have developed my knowledge and training in mediation and collaborative law. In addition to my private practice, I am a volunteer mediator at Community Dispute Resolution Center in Ithaca, NY, and am currently the vice-president of the Ithaca Area Collaborative Law Professionals practice group. I also volunteer as a legal presenter for the Parents Apart Program in Tompkins County, a six-hour class that offers parents information and guidance in helping their children adjust to their separation and divorce.
