I am not one for flowery prose or metaphysical statements about my art. Many times when I go out to capture photographs I may only have a vague idea of what I am looking for. I will generally let the light, my mood and the environment guide my way. Even when I have a specific goal in mind I am sometimes surprised at what I find and often times will be completely sidetracked by something else that has caught my eye.As for any meaning in my photographs, I prefer that the viewer find their own connection with my art. I can only hope that you, the viewer, will find something in my art that is pleasing to your eye and to your soul.Although I have taken a couple of college courses in photography, I am primarily self taught. I have learned mostly by doing, reading and studying the photographs of such masters as Alfred Stieglitz, Paul Strand, Edward Weston, Imogen Cuningham, and John Sexton, as well as other artists such as Renoir, Picasso, and O{Keeffe.
