After graduating from UC Berkeley business school, I went to work at Microsoft in Inside Sales to learn sales, because sales is the cash generating engine that fuels business growth and pays for the other non-income producing (yet important) employees.Soon after starting there, my mentor told me it’s a “fairy land” and later I realized why, because the partner ecosystem is good enough and makes our job rather redundant, so I saved up enough to leave and start a business. Once Microsoft’s new Operating System, Windows Vista, came out and got negative customer feedback, I was out.At the time, Facebook launched it’s new Social Operating System, which was far more exciting, so I chose to invest in creating Facebook apps. I created apps based on personal growth tied into the hit movie at the time, The Secret, such as a vision board, goals app and project management app. The apps generated over 16,000 users in a short time, largely due to viral marketing I implemented, along with high user ratings
