John Drost married Mary Grizio and created a romance and a legacy.Their daughter founded Villa Marie to honor the cherished memory of Mary; whose love and guiding hand instilled a respect for hard work, dedication, and perseverance. John Drost, a local boy, was a successful semi-pro baseball player, who came home to marry a local girl and serve 13 years as the Mayor of Maryville until his death. They would be extremely proud to see the Grizio - Drost family{s heritage enshrined in the gorgeous Villa Marie vineyard, winery and banquet complex.
