Riverside organized as a church in the Riverside area near downtown Miami on October 13, 1921. The church remained downtown for over fifty years and experienced tremendous growth through the 1960{s. A demographic shift in the late 1960{s caused a decline in church membership and the congregation faced the difficult decision of moving from its downtown location into the suburb of Kendall, our present location, in 1974. Today, Riverside is a multi-cultural congregation whose members come from many nations speaking various languages. We are a microcosm of our community and we are devoted to reaching our community and city for Christ, one person at a time. Riverside Baptist Church exists to INVITE people to Christ, GROW them in Christ and SEND them for Christ. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
