Dutch owner, Michiel Dop, began importing containers to New Orleans in 2000, to provide European antiques to dealers and decorators at wholesale prices. Everything is handpicked in France, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands and England. The 15,000 square foot warehouse is now open to the public with 40′ containers arriving every three to four weeks. Dop Antiques also offers reproductions from Egypt, China and India, and rents antiques to the film industry and party planners. Local craftsmen custom build tables and bookcases with reclaimed wood, while on-site artisans can custom paint and faux finish any piece upon request.
