Mason’s Pecan Shelling was started during the pecan season in 1967 by Bill & Karen Mason. Being a “seasonal” business meant closing down over the summer until the next season began around the time of the first fall/winter freeze (Oct./Nov.).For several years all we did (or had time to do) during “season” was crack and shell our customers pecans. If you live in Oklahoma or even Texas, there’s a good chance you have a pecan tree in your yard. A mature tree will yield between 100 to 200 pounds of in-shell pecans (depending on the year and/or if you manage it).
