Bayside is the newest condo in downtown San Diego, completed in summer 2009. It was built by Bosa Development who has a history here in downtown of their latest building being better than all prior Bosa buildings, after all he is competing for buyers that are looking at resale’s in his prior buildings. When you look at the level of interior finishes and the amount and quality of the common area amenities, Bayside is superior to all other buildings. The Bayside condos also have one very big selling point to it, safe bay views. Bayside is the last high rise building the city zoning allows going North towards the airport, this means if you face North you can see for miles with no high rise in your view. Also the bay views to the West are safe over the two Holiday Inn hotels as they are at their maximum height limit for the land. The Bayside condos are the best combination of quality, amenities, views and entry price points as low as $500,000.Electra:Electra condo tower is the tallest condominium in downtown San Diego at 43 stories tall. Completed in January 2008 this is one of the newer condos. Great bay views start about the 10th floor and are subject to change due to the master planned embarcadero development project (ask me about the safest view floor plans). One special thing that separates Electra from every other condo on the West coast is its “conservatory” also known as the social lounge. Electra was built on the site of a former SDG&E power plant, the developer (Bosa) kept the façade of the old structure which now houses the conservatory, it’s a room I estimate about 6,000 sf with 60 foot ceilings with old windows and a glass dome on the top, an amazing room to hold your private parties.
