The word church has some different meanings depending on how its used. It can be a location in town, a specific building or even a group of people. At Grace we are trying to think of church less and less as a physical place and more and more as a group of people living lives that honor God and make the world a better place. As the biblical writers used the word "church" they were most often talking about people, rather than a place. Jesus said that His church would be people not places. In the book of Matthew when Jesus was talking about His disciple, Peter (whose name meant "rock"), He said "on this rock I will build my church." Jesus set the stage for His followers to be known not by the geographical place where they assemble, but rather by the way they live in their community.
