About

A DUI (Driving Under the Influence) can go by many different names, including Driving While Intoxicated (DWI), drunk driving, drinking and driving, impaired driving, drunken driving, or operating under the influence. These all mean the same thing, which is to “drive a motor vehicle while having blood levels of alcohol in excess of the legal limit.” The blood levels of alcohol is also called ‘Blood Alcohol Concentration,’ or ‘BAC’ for short – there are roadside sobriety tests that police officers can ask you to take which are used to find the BAC levelThere are similar laws that regulate operating and driving other types of machinery while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, which can include prescription pills. Looking at the DUI laws and sentences in the United States, one of the strictest states is Washington, with King County laws being some of the most severe in the state
