Marty Ponak and Lori Dyer started working in the lawn care industry in 1984. We met as we began our careers working for a national lawn care provider. Lori had just graduated from the University of Missouri in Columbia with a degree in horticulture, and Marty was changing careers after seven years as a steelworker. After becoming licensed, we gained knowledge through our experiences on lawns. We each left for management opportunities with smaller, local companies. Lori managed lawn care for a Northland landscaping company while Marty was managing lawn care at a lawn maintenance firm south of the river.
