2008 Sangiovese was so popular it has disappeared from our racks. However, the good news is Favero 2009 Sangiovese has arrived and is everything a Favero wine promises! The process to make this 2009 Estate Sangiovese started at harvest with the selection of very ripe fruit. These flavors are still very pronounced in the bottle. In addition, aromas of rose petals, coffee, cedar and dark chocolate are combined with this big, luscious fruit, spice, and balanced French oak. Food pairings range from Charcuterie and mature cheese plates, gourmet pizzas, beef, seasoned pork, and zest sauces. This is not a light wine by any means; 3-5 years of aging is recommended.
