Blumen Gardens, which started in Joan and Joel Barczak{s backyard in Sycamore Illinois in 1989, has grown into 3,500 sq. feet of indoor/outdoor retail space with a plant nursery growing a large variety of perennials. Blumen Gardens also features both a maintenance and a construction division, and an award-winning design team. Most recently added is Blumen Gardens{ Tea Room, an event rental space hosting Wedding Ceremonies & Receptions, Business Meetings, Fund-raisers, and Gift Showers to name a few.Our backyard plant nursery played a crucial role in our early development as a landscape business. However, it wasn{t long before our horticultural endeavors quickly out-grew this space. In 1995, we purchased an abandoned industrial lot across from our home. This space, along with its vintage brick warehouse, provided the perfect locale for our growing company.By 2000, the Blumen Gardens family had grown to 10 retail employees, a crew of 15 maintenance and construction workers, and 3 landscape designers. Today, despite our larger size, the staff of Blumen Gardens continues to cultivate the dream we planted in our backyard 20 years ago.
