Syracuse Baptist Church began as a Bible study in 1975. Five couples got together in a home to study the Bible and learn more about what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ. During that time they attended Indian Hills Community Church in Lincoln. Two years later, those couples felt led to start a Bible-preaching church in Syracuse, NE.The first services of Syracuse Community Church were held in a home. Later the new church met at the Fair Center in Syracuse. In March of 1979 a building at 254 4th St. in Syracuse was purchased to be the permanent home of the young church.
