Doing what you love and loving what you do is important in a small business. I have been a photographer since 1965. My first company was Spindle City Photography. Commercially driven, my work consisted of photographing football and baseball teams, ballerinas, product shots for packaging. calendars, and post cards.In 1980, I began to entertain the thoughts of opening a camera store but was not sure if retail was something that I would like. So, I obtained a position in Caldors photo department at Christmas time. I soon discovered that I really enjoyed retail and luckily the position gave me the opportunity to meet several large dealer representatives like Canon and Nikon.
