A native of Tucson, Dr. Mary Strickland developed her passion for animals as a little girl, bringing home all the strays she could find. Instead of playing doctor, she played veterinarian. Dr. Strickland graduated from Tucson High School and received her Bachelor of Science in Animal Health Science from the University of Arizona. In 1985, she graduated from Colorado State University with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.After practicing with a small animal clinic in Tucson for 6 years, Dr. Strickland opened Strickland Veterinary Clinic in September 1991. During this time, in addition to her love of dogs and cats, she developed a love for ferrets. Dr. Strickland is one of the few veterinarians in Tucson that treats ferrets. In her spare time, Dr. Strickland enjoys spending time with her family, which includes the four-legged furry members, the wonderful desert scenery and climate, and the beautiful sunsets. Dr. Strickland is thankful for the wonderful clients that have allowed her practice to grow, and for her dedicated staff.
