Family Church Downtown at First Baptist is continuing the legacy of the generations before us who have done “whatever it takes” to reach West Palm Beach with the gospel. First Baptist Church of West Palm Beach was founded in 1901 when there were fewer than 1,000 people living our city. This small group of people met first in a home, then in the city reading room and then in a building they floated down the Intracoastal Waterway from Indian River and placed on donated land. They met in that building on Clematis Street in the early 1900s and reached many, many people for Christ.
